Glee-The first Slushy facial (Sapphires Blog)

The chairs were positioned in an untidy mess around the classroom and the only sound that could be heard was the scrape of her chair across the hard floor as she prepared to leave the now vacant room. Carefully picking her bag up from the floor she came across the familiar sight-parts of Puck’s maths book, torn into pieces and scrunched up into little tiny balls of paper and saliva. Some pieces of Pucks creation now sticking to the back of her chair and the loose strands of her hair.

Walking towards the door she stared into the small glass window that covered one third of the door and stared at her reflection. Great. Upon closer inspection she saw that not only did Puck ruin her hair with his onslaught of spit balls, Santana had managed to tie two pens to the end of her hair creating a knot the size of her thumb. She looked at her watch to check the time.

It is 12:15...Oh no! The Glee team is practicing their new number next, how am I going to impress Finn with hair like this?’I only have five minutes to get to the library print out Mr Schuster’s sheet music, run to the music room, set up the chairs and…! Argh I’m running out of time. I’d better run!

[Girl runs down the hall and prints out sheet music, she then turns to run out the door and collides with an older lady-Sue Sylvester ]

‘Hey! New girl watch where you’re going!’

‘I’m so sorry I was just running to the music room to give Mr Schust…’

[Lady takes paper from new girl and scans over the page]

'Your giving Will Schuster sheet music for sectionals? How exactly are you going to become popular running errands for Mr Schu and his band of no talent wannabe freaks that spend their weekends singing to deaf people in retirement homes?

'Who are you anyway?'

'None of that is important to you, I'm tired of your voice. Get out of my face.'

'Don't talk to me like that you whinny cross dresser.'

'HEY. Show some respect girl. I can make the next five years of your life a misery, not that you don't look like a mess already.

[Girl stares at the ground embarrassed.]

Aren't you tired of people treating you like your invisible? Don't you want to know what its like to walk down the halls and have people move aside for you? Give up their lunch money for you? Maybe even become Prom Queen?'

'Well that's a stupid question, doesn't everybody?'

'Well I'll take that as a yes. My names Sue Sylvester young one and I like your attitude. Be at my office at 1 o clock this afternoon. You have an interview for the Cheerios.'

'I just called you a whinny cross dresser and you like my attitude?'

'Well shows me that you have some sort of attitude. There is still hope for you...uhmmm'

'Quinn, my names Quinn. So you want me to try out for the Cheerios?'

'Yes of course the Cheerios. Anybody in this school would dream to be in your position right now. Impress me and I can get you into one of those iconic uniforms straight away. You'll be one of the most popular girls in school.'

'Popular, huh?'

'That's right Quinn, now don't be late. I don't tolerate tardiness. By the way, if you want to become one of us you'd better throw that sheet music away and show some loyalty to the cheerios.'

[Sue walks away abruptly and leaves Quinn standing in the doorway with the sheet music. Quinn stands still and thinks about Sues proposal.]

What to do? If I give Mr Schuster this music I'll be a Gleek for the rest of my high school life. BUT if I become a Cheerio maybe people will start showing me some respect around here...this decision is so easy..

[Quinn drops the sheet music on the floor and exits hall. It is now 1 o clock.]

[Quinn enters Sues office and sits on a chair facing Sue Sylvester and her desk.]

'So what do I have to become a Cheerio anyway?'

'Well Quinn I am a firm believer in loyalty. Why don't you try harassing one of those Glee kids.

'The Glee's? What have they ever done to you?'

'Nothing. But I can't stand Will Schuster. His little Glee club is a threat to the Cheerios budget. I don't care what you do. Just choose a kid and do what you must. Get creative.'

[Bell rings for lunch]

'Well off you go Quinn. You have till the end of the day to prove to me that you are worthy of the Cheerios'

[Quinn slides out of the chair and walks out of Sues office. As she walks towards the canteen she thinks about what she is going to do to become a Cheerio, on the way she stops and buys a strawberry flavoured slushy.]

'Hey Quinn! Hows your first day going?'

Oh great it's that annoying girl that wears her grandmothers clothes to school..

'Hey Rachel. I was just enjoying walking to the canteen by myself'

'Well if you don't mind I would just like to ask you a question.'

[Rachel and Quinn continue walking to the canteen.]

'Okay go for it.'

'So where were you today? Mr Schu was waiting for you to bring the sheet music and I know that you're new and stuff but we really needed that music for the Glee team. That sheet music is detrimental to my success as the lead in the Glee club and I'd really appreciate it if you didn't screw up my chances. So here's a map..'

[Rachel gives Quinn a map of the school as they enter the canteen]

'Why are you giving me this?'

'So that you don't get lost next time and we can avoid me reminding you to remain on time.'

[Quinn looks at Rachel with a smirk on her face]

'Well you know what I think of your map Rachel?'

'Whats that new girl?'

[Quinn grabs her slushy and throws it at Rachel's face in front of the school that are already sitting down eating their lunch. Many of the students turn around to see Rachel covered in strawberry slushy, they begin to point and laugh.]

'I can't believe you just did that! Whats wrong with you?'

'Well, the Glee club is for geeks and I'd rather be one of the popular ones if you don't mind.'

[Puck and Finn motion for Quinn to sit at their table. She leaves Rachel who is staring at her in disbelief and sits with Puck, Finn and Santana.]

'Hey new girl I'm Finn'

'Hey I'm Quinn.'

'Nice to meet you Quinn. That was pretty funny embarrassing Rachel in front of everybody like that. Sure did make me laugh. We need to do that to those nerds more often.'

'Well she was getting on my nerves a bit. Hmm I think I'll call that one a slushy facial.'

[Group laughs.]

'I like how you think Quinn'

'Me too'

[Quinn continues eating lunch with Puck, Finn and some of the Cheerios. The scene cuts to Quinn walking into Sue Sylvester's office at the end of the day.]

'So Sue, how did I do?'

'You made me very proud today Quinn. Welcome to the Cheerios. Here's your uniform'

[Quinn smiles. Scene ends.]
